Adventure and play are built into our curriculum, along with a culture where children become academically prepared students, respectful community members, and active participants in their learning journey. When you step onto our 42 acres of historic farm property in Roswell, Georgia, you immediately experience the difference in our positive and progressive approach to preschool through eighth grade education.

"Every time we drove up the driveway entrance to the school, I looked forward to being outside. At other schools, you’re in a building for eight hours a day, and you don’t get to connect with nature. HMS is intentional about giving you that connection. It helped refresh my mind and made learning in a traditional classroom even better." Read more.

"High Meadows flipped a switch in my heart and my mind that shifted my default setting from silent, small, and “perfect” to that of curiosity, humility, and vision." Read more.

“Everyone has their own story of the first time they drive up the driveway. You come up the hill and it feels like the weight of the world is off your shoulders. Regardless of your previous school or camp experience, you can be a kid and have fun while learning and playing at High Meadows.” Read more.

Both outside on the meadow and in the woods, as well as in indoor classrooms, HMS students work together, share ideas, and support one another!

Progressive education is a method of teaching that emphasizes experiential learning and critical thinking. It is based on the idea that education should be student-centered, fostering curiosity, creativity, and collaboration rather than rote memorization and passive reception of information. Progressive education often includes project-based learning, interdisciplinary studies, and real-world problem-solving, aiming to prepare students to be active and engaged citizens.
At High Meadows School & Camp, we strive to be a space where open and respectful minds can create a place of joy and belonging. Embracing diverse identities, experiences, and perspectives is essential to our mission. We uphold an expectation that our community members embody shared values of respect, empathy, and advocacy. Our year-round commitment to equitable policies, catalytic conversations, and inclusive curricula and experiences, empowers individuals to create positive change for a more peaceful world.
Absolutely! One Class of 2022 graduate recently said, "I am in my junior year of high school, and the only thing that I can compare the rigor to is 8th grade at High Meadows. I was so well prepared that freshman and sophomore year were a breeze."
After completing eighth grade at High Meadows, students choose to attend a variety of high schools, including their local public high schools, magnet schools, or private high schools. They graduate from our middle school program with a strong academic foundation, confidence in their abilities, and love of learning that fuels future success as valedictorians, salutatorians, Governor’s Honors Program participants, U.S. Youth Senate Program participants, National Honor Society members, Beta Club members, and more.
Yes! Approximately 15% of our students in Pre-K through Eighth Grade receive need-based financial aid. Our financial aid program is designed to bridge the gap between what a family can afford to pay and the full cost of tuition.
